Brize Norton Primary School: A New Home

Welcome

As you may recall, there have been lots of discussions and consultations over the years about our school moving to a brand-new purpose-built site.

This is the biggest change to our school since we first came into existence generations ago, so we wholly understand what a significant moment this is. Our school building has served our community incredibly well and is the home of countless memories.

However, the needs of our children, education requirements and our wider community is constantly evolving – which is why the proposal to move our school to a purpose-built site at Brize Meadows has been explored for such a long time.

It is now right to let you know that all parties have listened, considered the feedback and the Department for Education has now approved the relocation of the school. The proposed date we would relocate is September 2028, and the transition will be carefully planned.

The new school building and grounds will provide the space, facilities and a purpose-built learning environment to support future generations of children.

We would like to invite you to come and see plans for the school as part of the planning consultation. We will have representatives from the architects, OCC and ODST in our school hall from 3.30pm to 5pm and then again from 5.30pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday 10 June. Access will be via the front gates.

This consultation is seeking public comment on the proposed school and design proposals

The consultation period will run from Monday 8th June to the Thursday 2nd July 2026

The decision to move to the new building is the right one for our children, but that does not mean that we will not be saddened to say farewell to our current home. In future years, when the new school is built, we will mark the significant contribution that it has played to so many lives.

We will be closely considering the needs of our children over the coming weeks. We will be holding assemblies with them on Monday to explain everything in more detail to help reassure them.
